On February 16th, 1872, it’s the day Miyagi Prefecture was born.
So this year, 2022, is the 150th anniversary.
Beloved Miyagi Prefecture
There’s the official site as well, and it seems that various commemorative projects will be held this year.
You can download the pamphlet, and it contains information about the history of Miyagi Prefecture and sightseeing spots,
so you can enjoy it as if you were preparing for sightseeing in Miyagi Prefecture.
And you’d see many messages from celebrities who have connections with Miyagi. (Many of them were born or raised in Miyagi.)
The messages are from not only Japan, but also other counties. I was impressed and moved when I saw those messages.
Miyagi facing the sea also has lots of mountains, so we can enjoy the blessings of nature easily.
I bet most of us feel something special about “hometown”, and think about it more than other places.
But I’d still like to say,
I’m so blessed to be born in Miyagi!
The logo creator
This project has original logo, and the creator is a highschool student in Miyagi.
Her name is Nanae Sasaki, belongs to art club in her highschool.
The prefectual goverment made the logo contest among highschools of Miyagi, and she found it then made it within 3 hours. Then she got the first place!
The logo is inspired by these below.
- Rice : Miyagi is one of famous places for rice cultivation
- Masamune Date : Sengoku warrier of Sendai domain
- Tanabata festival : One of famous summer festival in Japan
A tourism campaign will be started!
The tourism site will be released in March.
It may not go smoothly because of COVID-19 but I’m looking forward to seeing what happens!
